We are two French friends on a Working Holiday Visa, and we were welcomed by Andrew and Brenda, a lovely couple who truly made this eco lodge feel warm and welcoming for backpackers. The common areas are well designed, clean, and comfortable to spend time in. The private rooms are really cozy and a place where you quickly feel at home. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

Great accomodation! The team is very friendly, the rooms are decently clean and they have great shares facilities. It's especially a great place for backpackers that are working, as the lodge focusses on that target group, and so all the friends you make will (most likely) also stay long-term.

The only point of improvement I can think of is that the hostel beds did not have curtains. However, overall I would definitely recommend this place!

The hostel is laid out like a park — it feels like you’re living in a peaceful garden, even though it’s very close to the city center. There are always lovely people around to connect and chat with. It’s not a party hostel, which I found really relaxing, especially for a longer stay. The hostel managers, a young family, are very friendly, always there and ready to help, and they can even help with finding jobs!
As a woman traveling alone I felt very safe there - I would come back anytime. Thanks guys 🤗☀️

Stayed for two months~ had wonderful time! The owner Andrew and his family is so nice, polite and helpful! They even introduced me some job when I first reach there~ Marie does a great job and she’s always very friendly!
What I love is that once in a while there will be a potluck party night~ it’s a great time to connect with other people!

I stayed here for around 6 weeks in my camper van whilst doing some temporary work in and around Hastings and really liked it. It’s a lovely site surrounded by trees, plenty of cooking facilities including an outdoor kitchen and enough showers & toilets. The whole place gets cleaned everyday by a lovely and chatty cleaner so no where felt unclean (although a little outdated).

Andrew the manager is fairly new there but couldn’t have been more accommodating! Helped me out getting work on multiple occasions and him & and his wife were absolutely lovely. Would deffo recommend the Ecolodge!
