+ Pineapple Pie
+ Pack C - 4 Lamb, 2 Chicken, 1 Sausage, Chop Suey, Potato Salad, Taro, Can Drink
+ Mango Otai
+ Juice

This place screams HOME.
From the food, to the service, to the music, this place is an absolute vibe.

The BBQ has a solid flavor while keeping the meat nice, moist and succulent.

Pineapple Pie is definitely better than a lot out there, thin base, soft, and sweet.

Can't believe it but instead of napkins you get a whole roll of paper towels, what a game changer, pay rise for whoever's idea that was, makes the whole eating process so much more relaxing.

Good selection of music that most Islanders would vibe to, i can feel the money dancing out of my card and into the eftpos machine.

Awesome place, 10/10 will come back next time we're in Hastings.

Ordered the $25.00 3 choice meal, unfortunately really disappointed. Started off with poor service, my meal was forgotten about and two people who came afterwards were served before me. And then the food was very underwhelming. For $25.00 i was given 1 lamb flap, 4x extra small chicken wings, and a few spoonfuls of chopsuey which did not even come close to filling the container bought as seen in the photos. The chop suey was pretty decent therefore leaving a 2 star review instead of 1 star however the chicken and lamb were both dry and not to mention i feel 4 extra small chicken wings and 1 lamb flap is a bit extortionate given the price. Hopefully this review can help to improve your business for the future.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Falekai on Friday night! This cuisine was completely new to my partner and me, so we needed a bit of guidance figuring out what to order.
A huge shoutout to Santina, who looked after us. Her customer service was completely on point. She was incredibly polite, helpful, and so patient with us while explaining the menu and the dishes we were looking at. When our kai arrived, the service remained top-notch. Santina truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable trying something new.

Just passersby to this immaculate town and one thing I noticed walking in is the island aura, the warm tropical feeling. Pictures on the wall speaks volume. Bought a BBQ, raw fish and Keke. BBQ serving was massive, 3 pieces of lamb flaps, 2 chicken thighs served with potato salads and 2 taro pieces. Flaps and chicken were tender, full of flavor goes well with taro and raw fish was divine. Balance off with a coconut drink yummy!!! Eaten by 2 people under $30 worth it. Thank you for the beautiful customer service, will definitely stop by next time in the area. Highly recommended 👌.

My husband and I couldn't decide what to have for dinner, so we thought we'd give Falekai Hastings a try. We were excited to support a new local business and try something different, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing.
Customer service is a big deal for me, and first impressions matter. When we walked in, not one staff member acknowledged us. Even a simple "Hello," "Kia ora," or "Talofa" would have gone a long way. One staff member was serving another customer, which was understandable, but after that customer left, we were still standing there waiting without any acknowledgement. There were at least three other staff behind the counter, yet no one greeted us or let us know someone would be with us. That was the first major letdown.
The music was also far too loud. I appreciate the atmosphere they were trying to create, but it made it difficult to hear the staff and place our order. It felt more like walking into a nightclub than a restaurant.
Another issue was the confusion over the food. My husband asked if the meat in the warmer was a lamb chop and was told yes. Later, while waiting for our order, he asked another staff member if the chop was included, and they looked completely confused, as though they had no idea what he was talking about. When we got home, it turned out it wasn't a lamb chop at all—it was lamb flap. If you're serving and selling the food, staff should know the difference.
As for the food itself, it simply wasn't worth the hype. If the meal had been exceptional, it may have made up for the poor service, but unfortunately it didn't.
Overall, we won't be returning.
My advice would be to invest more in customer service training. Greeting customers with a smile, acknowledging them when they walk in, and making them feel welcome costs nothing but leaves a lasting impression.
One final point: the menu photos appear to be AI-generated and don't accurately represent the meals being served. Using real photos of your actual food would set more realistic expectations and help customers know what they're ordering.
