Been a long time customer of Tu Meke Don and the food does not dissappoint. There food is always fresh and hot and I'm glad that I was able to pop in and see them. Tim and Junko are so friendly and you can taste the love in the food that they make. Thanks guys for serving up the best Japanese food in the Hawkes Bay ❤️

Tu Meke Don is an absolute standout gem for anyone craving authentic Japanese flavors. The sushi here is incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and crafted with obvious care. Whether you're grabbing a vibrant kaimoana box or trying their famous crispy chicken karaage, every single bite bursts with flavor. Combined with exceptionally warm hospitality, it’s easily the best spot in town.

Hands down the best sushi in Hawkes Bay, and up there with all the best sushi we’ve tried overseas.

Good prices, high quality ingredients. Good vegan selection too. 5 stars easy.

Best sushi in Hawke’s Bay hands down. So fresh, Salmon is freshest we’ve ever had at a sushi shop and you can tell they love the food they make. Always enjoy our food from Tu Meke Don, owners are very lovely, the layout and design of the shop is beautiful and always very clean. It’s an overall great dining experience eating there. Only complaint is they moved from Napier to Hastings so now we can only get it on occasion but it’s probably for the best budget wise, could eat here everyday. Their sushi platters are perfect for occasions.
