Have eaten here a few times and this time I have to say it was extremely poor.
The lamb itself was obviously pre-cooked and stored for future reheating and I understand that happens here and in a lot of kebab places in NZ. But it's not the way it should be, it doesn't take much to get your spit set up and the lamb freshly spit roasted especially at weekends when you are busy. To me it's just lazy and I know the business owner will get all defensive and try to justify it but you cant mate.
Maybe on a Monday Tuesday or Wednesday but not for weekends.
You are serving meat that I would say has been reheated two or three times and then flash fried on your hotplate and it's extremely poor, mine was dry and some of it was burnt and crispy. You dont have burnt and crispy lamb on a donor kebab!!
And that may be acceptable to people that have never traveled overseas and had a kebab in Turkey or Greece or other Mediterranean countries where it is a staple diet. Show some pride in your heritage cuisine and prepare and cook it properly.
I know you will come back with a whole bunch of reasons for it because every negative review you get you try to blame it on the customer is what I see reading your reviews.
But when a customer has just spent nearly $30, on what is for all intents and purposes basically fast food then I would expect it to be reasonably good food and edible not sub par burnt crispy lamb!
Im not even going to start on your rubbery fries.
Service was good and so was atmosphere but your food is one star based on an honest opinion of what was served up today

You knew you had served up burnt food then you should have removed it beforehand placing lettuce (which is not an ingredient used ANYWHERE outside of NZ as a salad vegetable on a kebab, it's CABBAGE, NORMALLY RED AS WELL) and then you wrapped it up and so I take it home and you expect.me to drive all the way back to your shop to complain!! Your OWN quality control should have sorted that out before I had to open it up and find it.
AND it's not standard practice for high end kitchens to EVER reheat and serve food!
Take the criticism for poor food which may be a rare occurrence but it was burnt this time as you over did it on the REHEATING!!

Enjoyed an impromptu quick meal here while on holiday in Havelock North. We enjoyed the variety and flavour of a meze and a large doner kebab. Not a lot of dine in space but seemed to do a roaring take away trade so limited seating didn't matter. We would go back

The kebabs are really good. I’ve gone there a couple of times in the middle of the day and they were closed which was really disappointing. Strongly suggest updating the opening hours on google as the hours (11am-8pm) are misleading.
