St Martha

We came here 18mths ago and again today. It felt like a totally different cafe. The floors were sticky under our shoes, the signage was all fading, the table wasnt clean, the mushrooms on toast were actually a sweet soup like liquid in a bowl with a few mushooms in it and toast on the side. The sausage slightly raw in the middle and the second sausage they sent out was even more raw. The cabinet food that was all gladwrapped made the place feel cheap and low quality. I wouldn't return or recommend it to anyone.

The store itself is ok, but the food itself for the cost is absolutely terrible. I got the eggs Benedict and the Benedict tasted like it was trying to be a salad sauce, also my nana got some pancakes, and when they came out they were cold.

I visited here specifically for a fresh pressed juice as I had seen menus online that stated they did this.
However, they do not.
The only juices available were the usual bottled ones.
Since I had driven there, I decided to try the tiramisu cake. It looked good and felt nice and soft but upon eating it, it felt dry in the mouth and really only tasted like chocolate cake to me.
Expensive and quite disappointing.

A true hidden gem in the heart of Havelock North - St Martha’s on Donnelly Street is an absolute winner.

We’d highly recommend this café for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The food was incredibly fresh, generously portioned, and full of flavour. The creamy mushrooms were rich and delicious, and the kids’ pancakes were soft, fluffy, and clearly made fresh - they disappeared fast!

Great food, a relaxed vibe, and a spot we’ll definitely be coming back to. If you’re in Havelock North, St Martha’s is a must-visit.

5 ⭐️ for everything basically. Good food, good vibes and awesome staffs. The bacon is to die for, honestly that’s the best bacon I ever had. It’s a whole different level of crispy. Coffee is great. The only thing I may have not liked are the hashbrowns. It was a little soggy and mushy for my taste, but hey everyone has different preferences of course.
In a nutshell, great place to have breakfast, value for money great taste.
