Black Barn Bistro

Absolutely amazing. We did lunch for our 36th Anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it, from Pablo the Maître D to the young fellow bring out meals and clearing tables, the service was outstanding and food, ong amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed an Easthope Two Terraces Chenin Blanc with my lunch, it was exceptional, talk about a big burst of flavour that went well with everything. Hubby being a Red wine fan enjoyed a BB Syrah. We highly recommend the "Shared Lunch" Menu, the lamb shoulder was divine, the entree, the sourdough with smoked cultured butter and honey, the hummus with chilli oil, the potato galette with black garlic....and the salad with palm sugar dressing.....we couldn't fault a thing and then, the icing on the cake was the dessert, lemon posset topped with French Meringue, perfectly scorched and the lemon & grapefruit combo just topped the dessert off beautifully. All in all, a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Very impressed...what a lovely evening and great views. The food was incredible. We both had the eye fillet with a side of "burnt carrots" - best carrots we've ever had. The flavours were amazing. We were offered a little extra of grated truffle which I had never tried before and loved it. Chocolate mousse and a caramelized crépe with burnt orange caramel were our desserts, delicious. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Decided to go to the Bistro recently for a change and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a very friendly front of house, who continued to provide excellent service throughout the experience.
The food was exceptional, particularly the oysters!
My partner had the steak, he raved about it. We shared the burnt carrots, they were delish. I had the snapper,, which was perfectly cooked .
Would highly recommend.

Were taken here by friends who were locals. Great atmosphere in a winery, excellent food and outstanding service, wines were excellent. We had starters of venison tartare, raw fish (trevalley) and mains of prawn pasta and Jamaican chicken, all were excellent and substantial.

Excellent service.
Cuisine-wise, too much sauce all over the dish. Plating was not impressive, the T bone was covered by the whole bunch of spring onion 😵‍💫.
