Me and my partner had a wonderful time staying here, we enjoyed the beautiful house and nice spa and sauna. We love the amazing breakfast as well. They had nice chef and nice service. Will definitely come back again if we visit havelock north.
They also had outdoor swimming pool and tennis court, BBQ set and wood fire place, could also dine in there for dinner. Carrying customers a lot.

A beautiful, historic hotel with lovely grounds and a delicious breakfast! Staff went above and beyond after we ran into car trouble and needed a late check in, then let us stay later on our check out date. They were all uniquely kind and we can't wait to go back!

A very charming hotel with a beautiful garden and incredibly well-maintained grounds and rooms. Everything is kept with impressive care and attention to detail.

The property reflects the elegance of a past era. While everything is impeccably maintained, you can sense that around 30 years ago this was probably the luxury address in town. Today it feels a little traditional and slightly old-fashioned in style.

That said, this is not a disadvantage at all — we had a wonderful stay and felt extremely comfortable throughout.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. A special compliment goes to the restaurant and the excellent & friendly housekeeping team.

Some team members at the restaurant seemed to be relatively new, yet they still did a very good job.

The restaurant itself is highly recommended. The cuisine is modern and of high quality, and the wine selection — together with the knowledgeable recommendations — was excellent.

My wife and I stayed at Mangapapa for 3 nights while in a Backroads tour. Top notch experience without being snobby! The manager James is fantastic - so friendly, professional, efficient, and accommodating. The grounds are vast and gorgeous, with a rose garden and sheep grazing across from the cottage rooms. The meal services all excel in presentation and attentive execution, effortlessly supporting our dietary requests. The deep tissue massage from Sam was one of the best I’ve experienced. And the bar is capable and friendly.

My hubby and I had dinner at Mangapapa this week for our 20th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint.
Right from the moment our ride pulled up and we were greeted by a lovely staff member with umbrellas, we had an excellent experience from start to finish.
The three course menu was exquisite. The sommelier made excellent wine recommendations, after asking our preferences. Food was on point, and atmosphere was top notch. We could not fault the experience. Highly recommend.
