Piku Izakaya Japanese Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

We regularly visit Piku because we love the chicken double decker roll & the spicy tuna roll, unfortunately after eating here you’ll never rate normal sushi places again. They also have a great kids bento box which comes with so many options even fussy kids will enjoy. Service is always great here as well!

Went for Mothers day lunch today.
1st time visiting.
The waitress explained and advised on what would be best to order. Especially if we were going to share. Personally love when staff help make you feel less anxious on what to do or where to start ordering.
The table behind us were also open and friendly on suggestions for food as well.
Love a foodie!
My dad is a simple guy who loves salads and meat. He ate with gusto!
Overall..... flavours were amazing.
Bao buns were soft and tender.
Sushi..... 100/100 freshness, flavour and simplicity.
I even stated to my partner that the flavour of our meals actually made me feel satisfied. We indulged and had pudding... wow. Pretty delish.
Flavoursome food, full belly's and staff who were attentive.
Thank you for one of the BEST 1st experiences ever.
Definitely made my top 5 list. We'll be back.

Not worth it.

I've heard lots of praise about the place. However, when we went, I thought it was pretty average. We got quite a lot of food to try, some as per following.

Atmosphere- it was just so loud, chaotic. The decor and layout of the restaurant is confusing and tacky.

Food - The sushi rolls were definitely the highlight, the fish were super fresh. However, seems like every other dish is disappointing and mediocre. The bao buns - you should definitely not get that, the chicken bun was so dry, we couldn't finish. We tried some pork which I thought was a bit dry.

Drink - definitely should go somewhere else if you want some nice drinks.

Service - the staff seem very nice!

Overall, would only come back for the sushi.

We came right at 5pm when they’re open for dinner, and it was very peaceful. A good place to come for dinner to have your Asian meal fix, tho on the pricey side. Can’t deny that the food is really delicious!!

Nice, yummy sharing plates—plenty of flavour going on! But definitely on the pricey side for the yield, classic Havelock prices. Get 2 plates if you're a big eater. Several people asked about an empty table, but it was apparently reserved—maybe popping a sign on it would help clear that up. Polite and friendly service. Still a good spot overall!
