We visited Napier in April 2025 and Aug 2026. We dined for dinner and breakfast I 2025 and had a great experience so came back for dinner at the Boardwalk this year.
Service was great, we had a cosy table inside and our food did not disappoint. I shared the mussels as an entree and our mains were beef cheek, fish of the day and the vegetable stack. All were delicious and we stayed for a desert and left full! We shared a bottle of wine, good company and great Kai. We will be back during our next visit to Napier.
Finally the sunset on the beach was gorgeous 💛

I really wanted to like this experience, but unfortunately it fell short. We visited on Mother’s Day, so I completely appreciate that it was a busy service, however we came in with my disabled grandfather and there was very little support or accommodation when it came to seating arrangements around his needs.

The food and drinks were also disappointing. My coffee tasted burnt, the omelette lacked flavour, and while the shakshuka was decent, the eggs were overcooked. Overall, the service didn’t feel particularly accommodating or attentive, which made the experience even more disappointing. The view was good.

Came here once a year for several years. This time I've especially enjoyed the food. The lambs fry meal is a good package, not perfect but worthy of 5 stars: looks good in a deep bowl dinner plate, everything tasty to match the liver, and the bread was crisp on the outside and soft in the inside.
Staff are very good: attentive and friendly.
Scenery and the murmur of the sea are great even on this overcast day.

Enjoyed a meal here several years ago so checked reviews. Based on latest review, made a last minute booking as travelling. Had the chicken meal which I couldn’t fault as beautifully cooked and tender, lovely roasted potatoes, veggies, and a sauce that was delicious! Hubby had the Seafood haul and enjoyed that. Followed up with the Cheesecake and Churros desserts 😋😋
Will be back!

It took a while to decide where to eat for our first night in Napier. BUT damn I am so glad we decided to eat at the Boadwalk!!!
I had the Seafood Haul and my mate had the Nasi Goreng, and both were amazing!!
It was cooked perfectly and it was fresh!
We decided to have desert aswell and I will highly recommend the Sticky date pudding!! The Creme Broulee was something special aswell!.
The staff were amazing and friendly, especially Bella, who we did give a bit of banter to, She is a great personality 😀
All in all, a fantastic meal with great views accross the bay! Backed up by even better service!
