Was a comfortable stay. Location is really great, balcony with two seats overlooking the sea. Big bright lounge as large windows. Two bedroom unit.

Rooms were a bit tired, needed some cleaning in the nooks and crannies and some small repairs.
The bathroom was next to one of the bedrooms, but no soundproofing/insulation, so everytime the toilet flushed a massive loud rushing noise would wake us till the cistern was full again as the pipe was right behind the gib.

The bedrooms have large framed cutouts in the walls with louvres above the bedroom doors, but no glass, making the entire apartment one connected space. You could hear every conversation in any part of the apartment. No privacy. An odd design feature.

No spare blankets. No ‘Do Not Disturb’ or ‘No Service Needed’ sign to hang on the door. Lack of hooks or shelf space to hang our coats or put items on. We kept looking for places to put our stuff. One hook per bed in the bedrooms to hang a towel on we guessed, one hook behind the bathroom door. No caddy/ledge in shower for haircare/soap. Be careful in the shower as it’s over the spa bath with a sloped surface, but no suction mat. Shower curtain old/worn. Just all a bit minimum and tired.

We were there on a Fri & Sat night, and either someone in the complex or a bar nearby was playing loud music or live music with drums and base reverberated through the floor and walls++. Again, possibly because not good soundproofing? We were there in wintertime and suspect there was no one in the units beside us, so can’t comment on noise from adjoining units.

Towels were lovely thick and fluffy though. Looked like new clean carpet. Did have a sofa bed in the lounge too. Views were just gorgeous. Parking on site. Got two little milk packs. Coffees and teas etc provided. Toaster, electric frying pan, microwave, all clean. Can't beat the location. Restaurants are nearby along Hastings Street. We got Indian Nepalese takeaways from 'The Everest' near northern end of Hastings St. and would recommend.

Booking and reception were confusing. Beachfront Motel and Shoreline Motel are next to each other and must be owned by the same people. Phone contact was difficult and when we got through, their answer phone said Shoreline Motel only, not the Beachfront. Forwarding to a cell phone would fix this, or an answer phone message saying both Beachfront and Shoreline. A message on the emailed booking confirmation stating to check in at Shoreline, would also have provided better customer service as we parked at Beachfront reception to find a sign to check in at Shoreline and had to walk next door in the rain. Just confusing and unsettling when you’ve put in credit card details and can’t get hold of anyone and have to go somewhere else to check in, on arrival. But it is legit, we found out in the end.

Overall, it did the job. The noise would be the only thing that would make us try a different motel next time if we came in summertime. Still, the lounge overlooking the sea with the big window/ranchslider and balcony might be hard to beat and once we settled in, this trumped most of the issues we encountered.

4 stars because of the holes in the walls but for price its an absolute banger. Perfeft location. Great for small kids because it's a tired motel and can handle small humans in it. Location is amazing. Rooms were serviced perfectly 👌 the large hot tub was a favourite for our girls who played mermaids. Great parking, close to food and shops. Would definitely stay again.

The unit is looking very worn. TV in the bedroom not in the lounge was silly .one very small couch was all that was in lounge. The most dangerous thing was there was no handles around the spa pool thus making it so very dangerous to get in and out was having to start to think about whom to call to get my husband out of the tub as it was slippery and with nothing to hold onto. Very much a health and safety issue.

Probably one of the cheapest places to stay in Napier but you get value. Room was spacious, good clean carpet, great hot shower, comfy bed, everything clean.wonderful view across the sea front. Big sofa. Spa bath in room is a bonus. Quick and easy to check in, car parking too. Convenient location near the town centre. No complaints, very happy.

Motel is in a great spot that is handy to town and had lovely views if you have a unit on marine parade, however the motel needs to undertake some serious renovations. The rooms were clean and tidy but the carpet was stained, walls with chunks taken out of them, half the power sockets didnt work, the was a significant draft from the front door and the heatpump only wanted to work if it was on 24 degrees heat. The layout of the rooms is also what one would describe as interesting with only some wood blinds separating the original bedroom from the add on bedroom which we assume used to be the lounge so there is no privacy or sound proofing, which isnt ideal if its more than just a couple staying. The water pressure was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place does have potential to be great it just needs a bit of care
