When we attempted to ask the occupants to keep the noise down, the situation escalated into an unpleasant confrontation.
When the duty manager attended at approximately 1:30am, the proposed resolution was for us, as the affected guests, to move rooms. We were unable to obtain any meaningful sleep before a long drive the following day.
To Quest Napier’s credit, management later investigated the incident, apologised and acknowledged that our experience was unacceptable. However, the only compensation ultimately offered was a complimentary weekend stay. As we do not live in New Zealand and are unlikely to return Napier, this offer has no practical value to us. Our request for a refund or partial refund was declined.
While we appreciate the apology, we were disappointed that the final outcome did not provide a practical resolution.
