My private balcony overlooks the foreshore and the beach, and I can hear the sound of the waves come tumbling in, and the gentle murmur of the rumble and tumble of the pebbles and the rocks, as the roll back and forth, with every crashing wave!
The rooms are well appointed to with everything you could possibly need! Mine came with a large spa bath, complete kitchen set up, spacious lounge room with dinner table, and a second bedroom with two single beds attached, in addition to the queen sized bed in the main room - which is a lot of luxury for one person who’s been travelling for days, and who last slept in a log cabin!
There’s no aircon but heaters in every room, which do a good job of taking the chill off.
Any the location is good too, being close to everything and directly opposite the beach!
In addition to the lovely room and friendly service from the front desk, biggest plus for me however is the sound of the waves on the beach lulling me to sleep!

Mozzies seemed to like my room but that’s not the motels fault.
Bad
There was some sort of birthday party going on the day we arrived which in itself is not bad but it was super loud later on with people heavily walking and moving furniture I could hear everything amplified. It didn’t go on till the early hours which was ok but realised they knew the people there hence why there wasn’t any issues with them breaking the rules.
It was one of the better motels I’ve staying while in nz and is in a decent spot.
The first thing we noticed was that the place was very clean spotless, fresh, and clearly maintained to the highest standard. The sea view from the room is simply breathtaking; there is nothing better than looking out over the water first thing in the morning. It makes the whole stay feel like a luxury retreat.
The customer service provided by our host was truly excellent. They were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Plus, the convenient parking right on-site made coming and going completely stress-free, which is a huge bonus.
If you want a perfect location, a beautiful room, and a host who actually cares about your experience, stay here. We can’t recommend Harbour View Motel enough!"
